Hello, I am trying to study abroad in California for fall 2009. I have applied to a school already but I am having trouble filing the proof of funds form stating I have enough money to cover my tuition fees + living for 1 year. Do I need to have this form processed straight away for my school to continue with my application? I have a US co-signer (I'm from UK) but I can't get a loan approved until I am enrolled in school, so how will I prove my funds? Are there any companies that will allow me to take out a student loan prior to enrollment or at least confirm I will have a loan once I have enrolled?

HEY,
i had troubles with that issue before.
For me, I just went to the bank, ask them to establish the statement with your account or your parent's bank statement account if they pay for your tuition fees.
After you turn that in, the school will actually inform you what should be done.
Good luck

Hey...

This is the story (quite confusing if I may add)

I am in CA now for the 4th year. If this place is something, it is a pain in the butt to make it here w/out the money.
"Affidavit of support" as they like to call it is a proof that you have funds besides the scholarship you might have of course.
In a case of a scholarship, the money awarded to you is put down to meet the total amount needed for one school year. However, the remain of it can be payed off by b you (working part time), and the money provided by the "Affidavit of support" never even touched. The Immigration needs the proof of funds, not school. I have lost my scholarship once due the budget cutts, and I owed some money. I told them I am working and made some payments and that was it. They (school) never told me that they will charge the account I provided support with.
I hope this make sense....
and that it will help...

p.s. now, you mentioned a co-signer...what exactly do you mean by it?

So the school won't charge the account you show the proof of funds with? Basically my parents have enough money in their acount to show the proof of funds. However they cannot actually afford to pay my fees. I need to take a loan out but I am not a US citizen so I need a co-signer who is a US citizen.
