Did you apply to any schools yet? Admission to university for fall is probably closed in most schools, so I guess you should aim to be in the U.S. in Spring (January).
Don't worry about schools taking you. I assure you, you can get in.
Thing is, the most important issue for most students is funding, can your family sponsor your education? Even if you got a scholarship, you still need enough money to live (rent, food, etc)

No I haven't applied for any college yet. Right now I am in the US and looking for colleges which are generous to international students. I have a big list of colleges I'm interested in. The question here is: I can apply to an average college, maybe get 60% of my need met and have still a lot to pay. My parents are not rich, but they could help me out to a certain degree. Or I can take SAT Subject tests and improve the reasoning test and try to get into a college which meets 100% of my financial needs. The thing is, those are the most selective and I dont know my chances. I'm confident I can get math to 800 and everything else above/around 700. Right now my SAT score is: Math 700, Reading 640, Writing 620. Since most colleges with big scholarships view applications holistically, again I'm unsure if I can meet stuff like Extracurricular Activities. I would be very happy to hear your advice.
