I'm sure there's been plenty of posts like this here, but I'd like to know if I have a chance to get into Cornell or Columbia (preferably Columbia, planning on early-decision).
I'm an international student from korea but I've lived in the US for 10 years. Currently a Junior at Tenafly High School, NJ.
GPA: 4.1 SAT: 2340 EC: 8 years of piano, winning local and state competitions almost every year Debate for 2 years, participated in national high school competitions i.e. Glenbrooks Sports: Not much, non-varsity cross country and track for 2 years. Volunteer: not much, volunteered at soup-kitchens time to time.
You certainly have strong credentials, but unfortunately, none of us can tell you your chances at any US college/university, unless we work for the school. I would consult with your high school counselor to get their advice and I would also visit any of your choice schools to get a feel for what they are like.
Good luck!
