Hi,

I'm a US student, planning on studying abroad in London this fall. However, because of the dangerous situation there, I'm thinking that I might stall that plan, and take a NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) trip instead, where I'd probably be in less immediate danger.
How do you feel about the situation over there, and how it effects us?

Dear Grayson,

Thank you for starting a post about the current situation in London. As we all know today saw the second attack on London in 2 weeks. Although the attacks today were not as powerful as those 2 weeks ago - and thank god no one has died in these attacks today, I can certainly understand your apprehension about traveling to London.

However, saying this, I would strongly recommend that you still travel to London and support Londoners and England. I am sure you are totally against these terrorists attacks, but by choosing to stay away you are letting the terrorists win. They want people to stay away from London, they want to insight fear and we all need to join together to combat this and show that we are not scared.

I hope you still choose to travel to London, its an amazing city, and having lived there for numerous years there is so much to see and do!

I would love to hear from other students, are you in London at the moment? What are your experiences about the attacks? I am also blogging about these attacks at:
http://www.internationalstudent.com/blog/ so please share your thoughts there also

Regards
StudentGuru

I live in London and was caught up in the 7/7 attacks at Aldgate.

You shouldn't cancel your trip, you should look at all the people in London who are carrying on with their everyday life. After the attacks on 7/7 I along with a few million other Londoners got back on tubes again.

Its is extremely unlikely you will be involved in any kind of terrorist attacks, you face more danger in your everyday life like driving and crossing roads.
